How to use Caffeine to Reduce Cellulite

July 29, 2014

With ongoing research in the fight against cellulite, a new study was performed in Brazil with 99 women using an anti-cellulite cream containing caffeine. The cream contained a solution of seven-percent caffeine, and the women were to apply the cream twice a day for thirty days.

At the end of the study, it was found that more than eighty percent of the women had a reduction in the circumference of their thighs and arms. The study also showed that over sixty-eight percent had a reduction in their hips as well.

While the study did have positive results, it still is not known if caffeine has the power to eliminate cellulite.

Topical creams that use caffeine for cellulite reduction work by tightening the top layers of the skin. This is a means to camouflage the dimpled appearance, but this is only a temporary fix.

A more natural way of using caffeine to treat the appearance of cellulite, you can use your old coffee grounds. Make sure that the coffee grounds are warm, but not too hot to burn the skin. If using day-old grounds, simply warm them up on a microwave. Take the grounds and rub them into the areas of your body that have cellulite with your hands or a loofa. You will notice that most of the grounds end up on the floor, but a good deal will remain. Then take seaweed wrap, which can be found at your local health food store, and wrap the area up. If you can’t find seaweed wrap, you can also substitute with plastic wrap. To make this natural procedure more powerful you can take a rolling pin and use it to smooth out the layers of the skin. Remove the layers of seaweed, or plastic wrap and rinse the area thoroughly. For top results, use this method twice a week.
