Does the Neutrogena Anti Cellulite Treatment Work

July 30, 2014

For a long time now, women have been plagued by cellulite. It doesn’t matter if you are as chubby as Miss Piggy or as thin as Twiggy. Anyone, regardless of color or race, can end up with parts of their body looking like cottage cheese. No woman likes having them. Some even go as far as getting cosmetic surgery from liposuction to lymphatic drainage. But for those who don’t have severe cellulite, the idea of getting surgery seems like overkill. Aside from that, such procedures can be very expensive and may even leave physical and emotional scars.

However, there are other alternatives to cosmetic surgery. The market is flooded with anti-cellulite creams and lotions. Most of these can be readily acquired in beauty shops and over the counter in drugstores. One of these manufacturers is Neutrogena. Neutrogena is an American cosmetics company founded in 1930. Their anti-cellulite treatment is said to be clinically proven to reduce cellulite in eight weeks. It is an oil-free cream-gel formula that comes packaged in a five fluid-ounce pump can. The cream-gel has no greasy after-feel and is in fact nice and cool on the skin. It also leaves a nice clean scent so you can apply this even before you get out of the house.

The Neutrogena anti-cellulite treatment works by improving the elasticity and firmness of the skin. This should reduce the bumpy, orange-peel look within eight weeks of regular application.

The secret is in the ingredients used in the gel

The treatment is a combination of Retinol, seaweed extract and caffeine. Retinol is a pure form of vitamin A. Cosmetic companies have long used Retinol in their anti-aging creams and lotions. The skin absorbs the vitamin A, which then promotes the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein vital to the elasticity of our skin.

Caffeine has also been used as an effective ingredient for cellulite treatment. When absorbed by the skin, caffeine acts like a chemical liposuction. It breaks down the fat cells in the area where they are applied to. In fact, some supermodels would give themselves a coffee scrub twice a week to prevent cellulite from forming. Caffeine can also increase the blood flow of your body due to its vasodilator properties.

Finally, seaweed is also know to be an alternative herbal anti-cellulite treatment. The different amino acids that are found abundantly in the seaweed help increase hydration of the skin. In turn, this would then improve the skin’s elasticity. Seaweed also has a high vitamin C and vitamin A content. Seaweed is also believe to be very effective in absorbing fats.
