A Guide to Modern Cellulite Treatments

August 13, 2014

The search for the effective cellulite treatment has led to new discoveries in the field of cosmetic science. With countless people looking for ways to get rid of cellulite, modern cellulite treatments are becoming more common and popular.

Before you undergo these modern cellulite treatments, it is best to make some prior research and study to see which ones are bets for you. Choosing a cellulite treatment just because it is a fad or the “in” thing nowadays is not a good idea, and could mean a waste of time and money.

Velasmooth

Velasmooth is a non-surgical cellulite treatment that works by increasing the flow of oxygen to the treated areas, typically the thighs, buttocks, hips and arms. The Velasmooth device employs a combination of vacuum suctions, mechanical massage and heat treatment using infrared rays and radio frequency.

Mesotherapy

Another popular cellulite treatment, mesotherapy involves the injection of medicines and vitamins into the layer of the skin called mesoderm. This results in the reduction of fat deposits as well as improved blood circulation. Mesotherapy has long been a common treatment for various health problems and it was only in recent years that it gained popularity as an effective treatment for cellulite.

Endermologie

Through the use of suctions and rollers, Endermologie massages the affected areas to enhance blood circulation, and collagen and elastin production. It also helps remove toxins from the body and improve skin tone. Fifteen sessions every two weeks are required for the initial treatment period, after which monthly sessions are needed for maintenance.

Wellbox

cellulite-laser-therapyWellbox is similar to Endermologie because it uses rollers and suctions, only that the device is portable and used at home. Although less effective than Endermologie, Wellbox is nevertheless convenient and inexpensive. Results are only temporary but maintenance can be done. This treatment lasts for eight weeks, and is done three times a week.

Cellubike

As the name implies, Cellubike involves pedalling a stationary bicycle while infrared light is focused on the treated areas, heating and softening the cellulite. This results in better circulation and metabolism, forcing cellulite out of the body through sweat several hours after every session. To get the most out of this treatment, it is advisable to embark on an exercise regimen and a healthy diet. Cellubike sessions are recommended 2-3 times a week.

Accent

Accent promotes the removal and reabsorption of fluids, breaks down fibrous tissues, and improves circulation. Using radio frequencies targeting two levels of fat simultaneously, Accent creates a smoother skin appearance by tightening the bands that hold fat. Six sessions done every two weeks are needed for best results.

Take note that modern cellulite treatments cost a significant amount of money. If you don’t have the time, patience and discipline to undergo an exercise regimen to help reduce cellulite, going for the modern cellulite treatments might be a good option.
